Beijing, China, May 18, 2010 – The FIVB Volleyball Cooperation Programme continued to break social barriers on Monday after a coaching course in Pyongyang, DPR Korea was successfully brought to an end, with 28 participants completing the 10-day event.
The course is seen as groundbreaking as the FIVB continues to penetrate a region considered challenging to conduct courses in.
FIVB Instructor Mr. Zhao Shanwen led the course and expressed his delight at how all those involved now possess a better and broader understanding of the development history of the FIVB, as well as the current trend in Volleyball development. The Volleyball Association of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea also appreciated hosting the course, adding its sincere gratitude to the FIVB.
Despite VCP courses often taking place across the world, DPR Korea is regarded as an extremely difficult place to penetrate for development. However, following the end of the course the country has invited the FIVB back for future courses on how to improve the game in the region.
