Honiara, Solomon Islands, February 18, 2010 – The Solomon Islands Volleyball Federation (SIVF) has declared that the FIVB's supreme authority - the World Congress - provides the perfect platform for all federations to share information and improve the sport of Volleyball.

Convened every two years, the next FIVB World Congress will be held in Rome, Italy from September 9- 10.

"The FIVB World Congress is the most efficient platform where the entire Volleyball family can congregate and exchange ideas and be fully updated on the happenings in the world of Volleyball," SIVF President Morris Maitaki told the Solomon Star.

Mr. Maitaki also revealed, as the SIVF launched its annual events calendar, that the 2010 FIVB World Congress will be the first time the islands will be represented at the meeting since he will be travelling to Rome.

The SIVF is one of 65 Asia member federations and 210 FIVB federations.
