AVC Technical Committees Hold Annual Meetings in Beijing

Beijing, China, February 5, 2010 – AVC Referee Committee, Coaches Committee, Medical Committee, and Development and Marketing Committee held their annual meetings in Beijing respectively on February 3 and 4.

The four technical Committee meetings heard reports on the FIVB respective commissions meetings held in Lausanne earlier this year, reviewed their work in 2009 and discussed their plans and aims in 2010.

AVC Referee Committee proposed their committee should cooperative with National Federations to raise the level of Asian referees. The committee stressed that all the international referees must understand basic English language. This is the rule which "we are obliged to follow."  Those who do not know the basic English language must not attend AVC competitions and we are going to inform their association through AVC.

AVC RC meeting also discussed the trial of Libero rule modifications, review of the latest rule changes and the trial of the Golden Formula applied in the FIVB Men's World Club Championships in Qatar.

The AVC Medical Committee meeting was the first one held since their formal foundation last year. The Commission reviewed the Anti Doping report from the FIVB MC and anti-doping policy and fully agreed with the measures taken by FIVB in the field. The members were satisfied with the work done in 2009 after heard reports on 2009 AVC official Championships made by the Medical Delegates.

As the AVC MC was established just less then one year, the meeting also discussed the roles of FIVB MC/AVC MC, and the roles of the Medical Delegates in the AVC events. The commission noted that they will send Medical delegates to all the AVC competitions this year.

The AVC Coaches Committee meeting proposed to AVC B/A that the Committee wish to organize two AVC technical seminars for category one and two every year in Asia region.
