Tehran, Iran, December 9, 2009 -- Iran Volleyball Federation held its annual General Assembly meeting here on Monday 7th December 2009, with the presence of Dr. Hamid Sajjadi, Vice President of Physical Education Organization, Heads of provincial committees across the country, Representative of national teams'  players, federation officials, members of relevant organizations in volleyball such as army, labor, universities, clubs and Ministry of Education.

Mr. Davarzani, president of volleyball federation said in his speech that " Our motto is: we can if we want. We have founded programs of our Federation three years ago and our slogan is based on 'we can if we want'.  All efforts have been done to obtain the actual position of Iran volleyball in the world. Great steps have been made in the past years for basic and infrastructure categories."

"The team that participated in the 2009 FIVB Men's Grand Champions Cup in Japan is the outcome of the junior team of year 2005. Fortunately, this investment in basic categories currently have reached to a point that it is pride for all Iranians, especially for the volleyball community."

He emphasized in the past some outstanding teams in the world even did not know the name of Iran volleyball, but now they knew Iran not only as one of the powerful teams of Asia but also one of the world's good team. Now they are trying to have a match with Iran team.

"In planning of logistical camps for international competitions, luckily, during the last three years we had considered some internal and external logistical camps. Fortunately all of them were performed well and on time. Currently, for each age group of six national teams in category of men and women we have various programs. Our target is approaching to the 2012 Olympics in London, to be present in world league and Asian Championships of Guangzhou, he added.

Finally, he admitted that the achieved success of Volleyball Federation is the fruit of efforts of all the provinces committees and he has played the least role in the federation.
