Lausanne, Switzerland, August 30, 2010 – 2010 FIVB World Grand Prix winners USA moved up two spots in the official FIVB World Rankings to second as Italy gained three places as they went from seventh to fourth following the conclusion of this year's tournament.
China move down one place to third while Russia drop from third to seventh following their omission from this year's edition.
Elsewhere, Poland and Serbia both moved up the ranking to eighth and ninth respectively at the expense of the Netherlands who drop two spots to tenth. Germany were the biggest losers however as they drop six spots to 15th.
Finally, the Dominican Republic gained two places moving up to 11th, Puerto Rico and Algeria both gain a spot moving to 13th and 14th respectively while Chinese Taipei leapfrog Colombia as the Asian side picked up their first ever win in the World Grand Prix on the final weekend of the preliminary rounds. |
