Iran claims the fifth place in the YOG

Singapore, Singapore, August 25, 2010 - The first classification match for the fifth place between DR Congo and Iran was an one hour perform with lack of inspiration from both of the teams. Iran won with 3-0 (9-25, 15-25, 17-25) in the Toa Payoh Sports Hall and gain the fifth place in the tournament.

In the beginning of the first set Congo made many mistakes in the reception and had difficulties to attack. Iran was the more organized team and Alireza Nasr Estefahni, scored 9 points while Amiri Babak, earned 10 points for Iran.

In the second set Congo had a wake up call and was ready to fight and made some strong spikes and was suddenly directing the match with four points. The attacks from Salva Mbuyi Banza (7 points), didn't afraid Iran who kept on playing well for the rest of the set and won 22 points against 15.

The last set was more energetic an the play of the teams improved and showed the spectators some challenging savings. After the second technical time out at 13-18 to Iran, the game was over. And Iran won the fifth place in these first Youth Olympic Games ever.
