Wellington, New Zealand, 13 January, 2010 -- Kiwi players Brendon Heath and Edwin O'Dea have been warming up for their first SWATCH FIVB World Tour together in April by taking part in the New Zealand Beach Volleyball Tour.

The pair have so far won both the Wellington and Christchurch stages and are looking forward to the tournaments at Mt Maunganui and in Auckland, hoping to secure a clean sweep.

Heath, who first joined the SWATCH FIVB World Tour in 2007 said: "Coming out on top in Christchurch was the perfect start to our season. We're really excited about what's to come at Mt Maunganui and in Auckland."

20-year-old O'Dea, who will be on his first SWATCH FIVB World Tour added: "Our goal is to win - to be number one and the overall series champions."

O'Dea himself was also part of a unique semi final at the first stop on the tour in Christchurch.

Whilst Edwin battled to victory with Heath over Aaron Crook and Adam Blackburn from Australia, two of his siblings, Ben and Sam O'Dea battled each other for a place in the finals alongside respective partners Michael Watson and Greg Linsay-Brown.

The New Zealand World Tour is the first opportunity of the year for teams from Oceania and other parts of the world to practice for the SWATCH FIVB 2010 World Tour that begins in April.
