Lausanne, Switzerland, January 13, 2010 – The FIVB Press Commission held its annual meeting at the FIVB headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland on Thursday.

The members, which includes media professionals around the world and the five FIVB Confederation press officers, discussed key plans for 2010 following a number of themes layed out by the FIVB President Mr Jizhong Wei who addressed the Commission at the beginning of the meeting.

Those themes included finding ways for the general public to learn the basic concept of the FIVB, improve the FIVB communication tools to help this process, how to prepare the public for the FIVB World Congress in Italy in September and for the FIVB to continue to show its support of the Youth Olympic Games.

The members concluded their productive meeting, which was led by FIVB 1st Executive Vice President Mr Cristobal Marte Hoffiz in the absence of the chairman Mr. Michel Henault who was unable to attend the meeting due to the flu, with the commitment to improve the online communication of the FIVB and its properties.

The Press Commission meeting, which was preceded by the FIVB Confederation Press Officers meeting, is one of nine FIVB Commission meetings in January, which includes the Medical and Legal Commissions, which meet on Friday.
