
Beijing, China, May 9, 2008 – the 14th Asian Junior Men’s Volleyball Championship is to ge held in Tehran of Iran from August 23 to 31. It is officially decided at the AVC B/A meeting held here recently.
The Asian Men’s Jr. Championship, which is also the Qualification Tournament for 2009 World Junior Volleyball Championship, draws a total 15 teams.
In accordance of the AVC regulations, the seeding are in accordance with the ranking of previous edition in 2006, which was held also in Iran and Iran, Japan and India finished the top three. And the teams from the same zone will be distributed into different pools as many as possible.
In the ceremony of drawing of lots on May 5 in Beijing, the participating teams are divided into four pools for the preliminary round.
The four pools are as follows:
Pool A: Iran, Qatar, Maldives,
Pool B: Japan, Australia, Kazakhstan, United Arab Emirates,
Pool C: India, Korea, Sri Lanka, Indonesia,
Pool D: Chinese Taipei, China, Pakistan, Kuwait.

Pool A: Aug 23 -- MDV vs. IRI, QAT bye,
Aug 24 -- QAT vs. MDV, IRI bye,
Aug 25 -- IRI vs., QAT, MDV bye
Pool B: Aug 23 – AUS vs. KAZ, JPN vs. UAE
Aug 24 – KAZ vs. UAE, AUS vs. JPN
Aug 25 – JPN vs. KAZ, UAE vs. AUS
Pool C: Aug 23 – KOR vs. IND, INA vs. SRI
Aug 24 – IND vs. SRI, KOR vs. INA
Aug 25 – INA vs. IND, SRI vs.
Pool D: Aug 23-- PAK vs. TPE, CHN vs. KUW
Aug 24 – TPE vs. KUW, PAK vs. CHN
