Asia Men's Beach Volleyball Circuit held in Iran

Kish Island, Iran, March 13, 2010 –The 2nd Asia Men's Beach Volleyball Circuit, the first Beach volleyball event in 2010 of Asia, started in the morning of March 13, with eight teams participating, under the wonderful sunshine in the beach of Kish Island, a beautiful Island in south of Iran, with 25,000 populations and calm and clear water.

The teams are divided into two pools of 4 teams. Two teams from Kazakhstan and one each from Thailand and Indonesia are competing with four host teams for the top honor. Total amount of prize is 16,000 US$.

In the first day, teams from the host achieved good results with 6 win and 2 losses.

In Group A, team A of Iran's Islamic Azad University clinched two wins by beating Thailand 2- 0 (21-16, 21-11) in the morning and then achieved its second victory over Kazakhstan A team 21-9, 21-12. However, the Kazaks saved their face by beating Islamic Azad University team B 2-1 (21-14, 13-21, 15-12).

Thailand team suffered its second loss as they were defeated by Islamic Azad University team B 2-1 (21-16, 10-21, 16-14).

In Group B, Iran's Bank Keshavarzi was also unbeaten with victories over Indonesia team 2- 0 (21-12, 21-13) and Kazkhstan team B 2-0(21-13, 21-11).

Ertes ashate Sanati of Iran beat Kazakhstan B by 2-0 (22-20, 21-13) in the last match of morning session but the Iranian team was beaten by Indonesian team in the last match of the day. The Indonesian players showed a fantastic performance and fought back from the first set down to win the match 2-1 (14-21, 21-15, 15-12).
