Stavanger, Norway, July 4, 2009 -- German pairs Julius Brink/Jonas Reckermann and David Klemperer/Eric Koreng join top men's teams from Brazil and the United States as the "final four" participants at the 2009 SWATCH FIVB World Championships after winning matches here Saturday on the Vaagen Harbour dockside courts.

Also advancing to Sunday's mid-day semi-finals with the third-seeded Brink/Reckermann and sixth-seeded Klemperer/Koreng are Brazilians.

After the second-seeded Dalhausser and Rogers scored a 25-23 and 21-14 win in 46 minutes over 15th-seeded Pablo Herrera and Adrian Gavira Collado of Spain in their quarter-final match on centre court, Klemperer and Koreng were ousting 10th-seeded Marcio Araujo and Fabio Magalhaes of Brazil, the gold medal team at the 2005 SWATCH FIVB World Championships in Berlin, by the score of 15-21, 21-18 and 17-15 in 65 minutes.

Brink and Reckermann scored a 14-21, 21-15 and 15-13 victory in 63 minutes over fifth-seeded Emanuel and Ricardo, who won the 2003 SWATCH FIVB World Championships in Rio de Janeiro and fourth-place finishers in 2007 at Gstaad.

Alison and Harley scored a 21-14, 35-37 and 17-15 win in 89 minutes over 17th-seeded Matt Fuerbringer and Casey Jennings of the United States. Alison and Harley, who have won all three meetings this season against the Americans, have now won their last 13 FIVB matches and are 27-2 this season.
