Taicang, Southeastern China, August 29, 2005 – The 16th AVC General Assembly is to be held on August 31, 2005 in Taicang, a picturesque city of Jiangsu Province in Southeastern China.
All AVC General Assembly meetings have their importance, but the coming one is of even greater consequence, with elections in all level of the Asian Volleyball body. It is not a matter of reconsidering everything. It is a matter of regrouping energies, remobilizing and galvanizing themselves to adopt orientations and set objectives, which will be decisive for the future of the AVC. We must elect a new, energetic leadership to chart the future.
In the coming AVC G/A meeting, the delegates will elect AVC President and Board of Administration members. They are also going to appointment of members of AVC six Technical Committees. The new leadership of AVC is expected to continue existing policies, stress collective leadership and make even greater efforts to raise the level of Asian men's and women's volleyball.
The meeting will hear a report from AVC President Wei Jizhong, which will summarize achievements in the past two years and outline the plans for the future. In addition, delegates will discuss intensively how to implement FIVB 2012 Volleyball World Vision in Asia.
According to the agenda of the 16th AVC General Assembly, AVC five Zonal Vice Presidents will make reports on the activities in their respective zones in the past year.
The other important item in the agenda is to discuss the proposals presented by AVC Technical Committees and will take major decisions of many innovations and ideas, which will have great impact on the development of volleyball sport in Asia. |
