The AVC Referees Committee Meeting, under the presidency of Mr. Sunada Takashi, Chairman of AVC R/C, was held in March 16, 2005 in Beijing of China.

Mr. Wei Jizhong, President of AVC, said in his welcome address that the referee level in Asia is good in generally and better than some continent. But AVC must work hard to raise referee level. "We must pay attention to fair play, which now is between referees and athletes, not between athletes," added Mr. Wei.

The AVC president suggests that referees should have a sense of responsibility, which is the key point for volleyball development. Referees must have respect to athletes. Besides, he also express his wishes that AVC Referees Committee try to have good mechanic to control, select and help the referees, and give them more chances to improve themselves. Referees Committee should aware for the ability of referees to be very good.

The meeting discussed in detail reports on the decision from 2004 FIVB IRC meeting for 2005 by Mr. Jaafar Ali Naseeb. He explains some important points from FIVB IRC Commission meeting for 2005. He said only one candidate course will be held in Thailand from May 24 to 31, 2005. Mr. Gavriel Kraus, President of FIVB Referee Commission is the course Director and Mr. Mohamed Habib, Secretary of FIVB Rules of the Games Commission, is the Instructor.

The AVC R/C put forward several proposals to AVC Board of Administration meeting which is scheduled to be held in Guangzhou, China on May 15-16.
