The AVC Sports Events Council Meeting

The AVC Sports Events Council(SEC) meeting held in Beijing, China on December 7-8, 2004 discussed the AVC competition calendar for the next four year and confirmed the schedule for the year of 2005.

Following is the AVC competition Calendar for 2005 and FIVB Events to be held in Asia in 2005:

AVC Competitions:

1. Qualification Tournament for Men's U-21 World Volleyball championship from April 16-23 in Amman of Jordan.

2. Q/T for Women's U-20 World Volleyball Championship from April 29-May 4 in Ratchaburi of Thailand.

3. The 5th Boy's U-19 Asian volleyball Championship from May 13-20 in Tehran, Iran.

4. The 2005 Asian Women's Club Volleyball championship from May 23-30 in Ninh Binh of Vietnam.

5. The 5th Girl's U-18 Asian Volleyball Championship from May 24-31 in Manila, Philipppines (The event is also the Q/T for Girl's Volleyball Championship).

6. The 2005 Asian Men's Club Volleyball Championship from June 1-8 in Islamabad of Pakistan. 7. The 13th Asian Senior Women's Volleyball Championship from September 1-8 in Taicang of China.

8. The 13th Asian Senior Men's Volleyball Championship from September 20-27 in Nakhonpathom & Ratchaburi of Thailand.

9. Asia Challenge Cup from September 22-31 in Chinese Taipei and China respectively

10. Other Events in AVC

*The 17th Asian Pacific Cup from June 22-26 in Fukuoka of Japan

*The 2nd VTV Cup women's Volleyball Invitation in Vietnam

*The 23rd SEA Games Volleyball Tournament from November 27-December 5 in Manila of the Philippines.

Qualification Tournament for 2006 World Volleyball Championship:

Men's

1st Round

Asian Group C from February 23-27 in Cebu of the Philippines

Asia Group A from April 1-5 (venue pending)

Asia Group B from April 29-May 1 in Nakhonpathom of Thailand

2nd Round :

Asia Group D from June 17-19 in Almaty of Kazakhstan

Asia Group F from June 22-24 in Tehran of Uran

Asia Group E from June 24-26 in Chennai of India.

Men's Playoff round from July 1-3 in Chennai of India.

Q/T for 2006 Women's Volleyball Championship:

Asia Group A from August 5-9 in Ningbo of China

Asia Group B from August 5-9 in Nakhon Ratchasima of Thailand

2005 FIVB Events in Asia:

1. Men's U-21 World Volleyball Championship in Chennai and Hyderabad of India from August 6-14

2. Girl's U-18 World Championship in Macao of China from July 23-31

3. FIVB World Grand Champion Cup in Japan (for women from November 15-20, for men from November 22-27)

4. World Grand Prix finals in Sendai of Japan from July 13-18

Preliminary rounds in Asia include:

Week one in Tokyo of Japan and Ningbo of China from June 24-26

Week two in Suncheon of Korea, Macao of China and Manila of the Philippines from July 1-3

Week three in Hong Kong of China, Taipei of Chinese Taipei and Bangkok of Thailand from July 8-10.
